Elevating Transportation Safety.

StairX is reimagining stretcher transportation with a portable, foldable platform designed to move stretcher-bound patients up and down a set of steps with ease.

Patent pending StairX platform concept

The first step in safe stretcher transportation

01

Fewer patient transfers

Designed to keep the patient on the full-size medical stretcher throughout movement between levels.

02

Less manual lifting

Creates a supported route intended to reduce the carrying and balancing demands placed on transport personnel.

03

Portable deployment

A foldable concept intended for rapid placement at a staircase* and storage in ambulance or transport vehicles.

04

Built around real workflows

Developed for the stretchers, teams, vehicles, and environments used by EMS, fire rescue, and NEMT providers.

It temporarily converts a staircase* into a stretcher-accessible route.

StairX spans the stair treads* with a supported platform so a full-size medical stretcher can travel between levels on a controlled pathway.

The patient remains on the stretcher throughout the process, reducing transfers and the lifting required from EMS, fire rescue, and medical transportation teams.

Deploy. Guide. Continue transport.

The system creates a temporary connection between floors while working with the stretcher already in use.

01

Creates a temporary pathway

The portable platform unfolds over an existing staircase* to create a level route for stretcher movement between levels.

02

Keeps the patient on the stretcher

The system is designed around a full-size medical stretcher, avoiding a separate transfer to a stair chair.

03

Reduces manual lifting

The guided platform supports controlled movement on stairs* while reducing the need to carry and balance a loaded stretcher.

The stretcher stays with the patient from start to finish.

  1. 01

    Position

The folded unit is brought to the staircase*, opened, and secured over the steps.

  2. 02

    Load and guide

The stretcher rolls onto the platform at its elevated height and is guided between levels.

  3. 03

    Exit and continue

At the destination floor, the stretcher rolls off the platform and resumes normal transport.

Designed for the equipment already in motion.

These development targets communicate the intended direction of StairX. Final specifications will be established through engineering, testing, and validation.

Donnie Rosier

With more than 30 years of experience in medical transportation, Donnie Rosier has spent his career on nearly every side of the industry—from working on the road to dispatch, supervision, operations, and management.

Few people understand the real-world challenges of moving patients as deeply as Donnie. After decades of watching crews struggle with one of medical transportation's most difficult obstacles—safely moving stretcher patients where stairs* stand in the way—he envisioned a better solution.

That solution: StairX.

Donnie's decades of hands-on industry knowledge are at the heart of StairX, a product born not in a boardroom, but from a lifetime spent solving problems in the field.
